Is Remote Working the New Norm?

There was a time when “remote working” sounded like code for half-day Fridays and checking emails from a sun lounger. Not anymore.

These days, the boundaries have properly shifted — and for us at Ee By Gum, it’s been a natural evolution. We’re now a 100% remote Leeds Web Design team, and honestly? It’s the best decision we’ve made.

We don’t work from home.

We work from wherever we work best.

For some of us, that’s a quiet kitchen table in Otley. For others, it’s a coworking space in Chapel Allerton, a garden shed with fairy lights, or a train seat between meetings. The point is — the work gets done, and it gets done better.

Remote-first doesn’t mean second-best.
It means fewer distractions. More focus. Better flow.
And crucially, more life in the work-life balance.

The tools? Already in your pocket.

Laptop. Phone. Wi-Fi.
That’s your office now — or at least the gateway to it.

Tech’s caught up with the way we think. Slack keeps us talking. Notion keeps us organised. Zoom lets us see faces, even if laundry baskets and cat towers frame them.

And for clients? It’s seamless. Calls. Screenshares. Video walk-throughs. You name it.
You don’t need to sit across the table to get great work.

Our process hasn’t changed. Just the postcode.

Brief comes in. Ideas start flowing.
Designs get sketched, refined, tested, tweaked.
Websites go live. Clients smile.
Only now, we might be doing that from three different cities (and one converted camper van).

We’re not tied to desks or postcodes — we’re tied to results.
